SOURCES:  Sources are from private family memoir written by Sidney Dwight Root, 
and from descedents of Moses Root, including stories of move from MA to VT and 
stories of Craftsbury town-life.

NOTES:  Sidney Dwight Root's memoir is a fascinating account of a Yankee turned 
secessionist, his friendship/personal advising to Jefferson Davis, President of 
the Southern Confederacy, and his post-Civil War civic contributions to Atlanta 
and New York.  His son, John Wellborn Root, became a well-known architect in 
Chicago before his young death.
