Documentation: Civil War Record; Marriage Record.  James R. Rogers was
first spouse of Sarah Ann GARY.  He came to TX from Mississippi with his
two sisters, Jane and Elizabeth, and two brothers, Angustus and William.
They settled in Newton Co., TX before the Civil War. James R. ROGERS was
in Co C 11th Battalion TX Volunteer Calvary and Infantry (Spaight's),
which was organized in the latter part of 1861.  James R. ROGERS enlisted
6 Nov 1861 at Sabine Pass - he was age 32.
