* Frank (Franz) Podany immigrated to Texas from Bohemia in 1873. He and his wife and 2 daughters settled at Cat Spring in Austin County, Texas. They were farm laborers in Bohemia and were forced to leave because of overcrowding and economic oppression. He spoke 5 languages. They were the only Podany family known to have settled in Texas. He was also married to Frances Josephine Mezerick and Victoria Irvinsky.
