Documentation: James Thomas Haney is shown as Thomas Haney, age 17 living
with father Holland and step mother Delilah McPherson Haney, his brother
Samuel and half brothers John and Richmon and half sister Catherine in
the 1850 Anson County, NC census. His wife Mary E. Newsom is also shown
with her family in the same census.  In the affairs of the estate of her
uncle Isaac Newsom there is a Power of Attorney on file as well as the
division of property which lists J. T. and Mary E. Haney who had laft NC.
Her parents went on to Henderson and Chester counties in TN where they
are both buried. He in Henderson and she in Chester. I find a Civil War
record on a J. T. Hainey, 21st and 22nd (Cons.) Cavalry, Co. H with rank
of Cpl. This unit is from Henderson County.  I then find the entire
family in the 1880 Census in Lauderdale County, TN; 8 Civil Dist. He is
listed as James T. and she is listed as Mary.  Both parents and all four
grandparents show born in NC. All children show born in TN. Enumeration
date is June 8, 1880. He is farmer, she is housekeeper. Under
miscellaneous information 4th child, James H. is commented "disabled
school" This family has vanished on me and I would very much like to find
them.
