Documentation: Alvis Lee GRIFFIN served in the Civil War with Co. B,
Randal's 28th TX. Walker's Div. It is said that this Brigade marched 5030
miles during the war. Alvis and his wife and 1st child William came to
Cherokee Co. around 1852 and where some of the first settlers there.
Malinda was given 250 Acres of land from her Uncle Robert Graves STADLER
they settled in the community of Blackjack.
