Today Sept 27 1900 A.D. Warren bid adiue to earth and earthly things. A telephone message from Gov. McMillin stated that he could not further interfere with the action of the law in the matter.
Immediately after this information a number of persons followed Elder E.C.Preston, Elder D.B.Vance and Rev. M.W.Charles to the jail, after service the condemned man made a statement in which he said that his Master told him durning the night and that he wqould go; that his dead sister visited him during the night and saw the beautiful home to which his soul was going.
The prisoner requested that his relatives and old acquaintances only be allowed to enter the parlor to bid him goodbye. This request was complied by Sheriff Shirley.
At 1:15 he was led to the scaffold in the back yard of the jail. On the scaffold he said I thought Judge Houston was a little too hard on me in his charge.
