1712-In Smithfield, Providence, Rhode Island . He bought land with a
new house from Thomas Comstock, about ten miles northward from
Providence at a place called Woonsocket and was a taxpayer there from
1713 to 1748.
1738, Aug 31 is mentioned in a deed from Capt. William Sprague is
mentioned as helping to build a meeting house in Smithfield.
1748-Was citizen of Highway Dist.#1, Smithfield.

Richard Sprague was born on 10 Apr 1685 in Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA.
He signed a will on 14 Aug 1749 in Smithfield, Providence Co., RI. He
died on 1 May 1753 in Smithfield, Providence Co., RI. He had an estate
probated on 28 May 1753 in Smithfield, Providence Co., RI

1712. He bought land with new house upon it of Thomas Comstock, about
ten miles northward from Providence at a place called Woonsocket and
shown to be near Branch river and Woonsocket Hill in North Smithfield
and was a taxpayer there from 1713 to 1748. 1738, Aug. 31. Is
mentioned in a deed from Capt. William Sprague as having helped to build
meeting house in Smithfield.
1748. Was a citizen of Highway Dist. No. 1, Smithfield.
1749, Aug. 14. Made his will and mentions wife Mary, sons Obadiah,
Enoch, Amos, and Daniel, and daughters Ruth Whiteman, Zerviah
Comstock, Abigail, Urania Aldrich and Lydia.
He was married to Mary Whipple (daughter of William Whipple and Mary
Towers) about 1710 in Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA. Mary Whipple was
born about 1689 in Providence, Providence Co., RI. Richard Sprague and
Mary Whipple had the following children:
i. Ruth Sprague.
ii. Zerviah Sprague.
iii. Obadiah Sprague.
iv. Abigail Sprague.
v. Urania Sprague.
vi. Lydia Sprague.
vii. Amos Sprague.
viii. Enoch Sprague.
ix. Daniel Sprague was born about 1729. He died after 1748.

blank for Mary's maiden name, but says p. 68 "His wife may be Mary
Whipple. The will of William Whipple of Providence dated 27 Feb 1711/2
names dau. Mary Sprague."
