Henry's wife Gezina died shortly after their arrival either in childbirth or fever. Henry married Gezina's sister who had emigrated with them. "Dank Caasliest" was a 345 ton sailboat which came to New York from Rotterdam on June 4, 1847; The Dank Caasliest carried mostly Dutch speaking Germans, many of whom settled in Graafschap, Michigan.
