OBITUARY - Johnstown Tribune 3/4/1880 Died in Jackson Township on the third, Mr. Christian Snyder, aged about 68 years.
OBITUARY - Johnstown Tribune, 4/20/1895 Mrs. Barbara Snyder, relict of Christian Snyder, whose serious illness this paper mentioned yesterday, passed peacefully away at the resident of her son-in-law and daughter - Burgess Benjamin Benshoff and wife - of Rosedale Borough, at 7:30 o'clock this morning, after a week's illness of pneumonia.
Mrs. Snyder was in her 85th years. She was born near Hollidaysburg, Blair County, where her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stiffler, died many years ago. Mrs. Snyder's husband died 15 years ago in Jackson Township, near Vinco, where they lived for many years. Since the death of her husband she made her home among her children. She is survived by 3 daughters and 2 sons: Catharine, wife of Benjamin Benshoff; Susan, wife of William Ford, of Jackson Township; Mrs. Jane Ream and Henry, of Michigan, and John, of East Taylor Township. She is also survived by 1 brother, John Stiffler, of Blair County.
The funeral will take place at 1 o'clock on Monday afternoon. Services will be held in Wesley Chapel, Rev. Stephen Hildebrand to officiate. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
