  * There is a discrepancy with the 1900 Census concerning this family. Harry and his wife appear to be living apart in 1900. The census taker in Lancaster recorded his marital status as "Single", while his wife reported "married" for twenty-nine years. It is also unusual for him to give his name as "Henry" for most records from 1870 forward are listed under "Harry C".
  * An additional "H.C. PINKERTON", age 23 in 1865 is listed in the Civil War File Indexes 1861-1866 in the Pennsylvania State Archives, (ARIAS) Pennsylvania's Digital State Archives "H.C.
