Mr. PINKERTON was born in Wiconisco and was the son of the late Mr.and Mrs. George PINKERTON. He was united in marriage to Miss Annie KOCHER, of Lykens, who with six daughters, Mrs. Faye SOLENCE and Mrs. Myrtle SHOMPER, Lykens; Mrs. Arlene NEYE, Harrisburg; Mrs. Emily HOOVER, Dauphin, Mrs. Miriam HERB, Lykens; Mrs. Catherine HOOVER, Lykens, and four sons, Claude, Charles, Ralph and George of Lykens survive. Second Street, Lykens, PA: "My husband Ralph and his brother Eugene worked a bootleg mine together. They were working together one day when the mine began to cave in. A large timber fell across Eugene's legs, trapping him. He begged his younger brother, Ralph to cut off his legs, but Ralph could not do it. The mine continued to cave-in, and Eugene was killed. Ralph managed to escape. At the time of his death, Eugene had five children, the youngest a six month old baby. Eugene's widow, Mary lived in the home beside Eugene's parents, Clifford and Annie PINKERTON."
