Notes:
  * James HASSON immigrated from Glascow, Scotland 22nd. Aug. 1864 to the Port of New York. He applied for Naturalization in Clearfield Co., PA. on 28th Sept. 1871.
  * James HASSON died in 1878 in a Coal Mine accident, unknown where. His wife Mary LIPPERT HASSON was left raising 4 boys and was pregnant with another son, my grandfather Charles Augustine HASSAN.
  * Mary died between 1878-1880, leaving all 5 boy's orphans. They were placed in the St. Joseph Orphenage in 1880. I found them listed in the 1880 census of Erie, Erie Co., PA. living in the St. Joseph Orphenage. I have letters from the Catholic Social Servieces who have the records of the orphenage, listing all 5 boys, listing there parent's as deceased.
  * James, was never adopted. William was adopted by the RILEY family of Union City, Erie Co., PA. Frank was adopted Guy and Agnes RUNSELL of Clarion Co., PA. John was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. MULLEN of Union City, PA. Charles was adopted by Edward and Mary AMHOLDT BOWERS of Cameron Co., PA. Charles name was changed to Joseph Edward BOWERS.
