Notes:
  * There is a discrepancy in the ages reported for John GREEN in the Federal Census of 1860, 1870 and 1880: 1860 - 30; 1870 - 35 (should have been 40/41); and 1880 - 52.
  * Mrs. William MATTHEWS of the Cressona Methodist Church reviewed the records of the church and forwarded information on February 21, 1995 from the church membership roster, Baptismal Records and Special Donations files concerning three generations of the Green- Pinkerton family of Cressona, PA.
  * The Obituary of Mary A. GREEN produced the following information using a February 1896 calendar - Date of Death: Monday, February 3, 1896; Date of Burial: Thursday, February 6, 1896."
  * Harold L. Pinkerton Genealogy Source Notebook "GREEN/PINKERTON Family". Harold L PINKERTON, Sr. is the great-great-grandson of George PINKERTON and Margaret WRIGHT.
  * The Federal Census Data reported in this Family Group Sheet was culled from the Heritage On-line Database.
  * Mary Ann PINKERTON, oldest daughter of George and Margaret WRIGHT PINKERTON married John GREEN in 1852, the year her grandfather, Hugh PINKERTON died in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
  * The Pennsylvania State Archives, ARIAS, Pennsylvania Digital State Archives, Civil War Veterans Card File 1861-1866 has no listing for "John GREEN", and there are no military markers at his grave site. There are, however, six "John GREENE" listings for soldiers serving Pennsylvania during the Civil War. More research will be necessary to determine if any of these could be the John GREEN of Cressona, married to Mary Ann PINKERTON.
