  2. W.W. Munsell's "History of Schuylkill County", 1881: Branch Township "Educational - Early schools were held in private rooms, furnished for the purpose by liberally disposed settlers. After a few years log houses were built for school purposes, and these with their furniture, harmonize with the pioneer life of the builders. The course of instruction given in German, comprised reading, writing, the elements of arithmetic, psalm sing and exercises from the catechism. The pioneer teacher was Philip DELCAMP, who first taught in the old log church. Item 2 - I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid and satistfied by my executrix hereinafter named, as soon as may conveniently be after my decease. Item 3 - The School Employees Retirement Board at Harrisburg, PA., The Great American Casualty Company at Chicago, Illinois., The Prudential Insurance Company of America, and the Patriotic Order Sons of America together with, all other insurance that I may possesses at the time of my decease.   19. Obituary of Mary DELCAMP, "Pottsville Republican", Pottsville, PA, March 7, 1931. "Mrs. Mary DELCAMP, 75 of Llewellyn, died Sunday at her home after a short illness. She was a life-long resident of that place and was very well known there. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wm. PEIFFER, and one son, Samuel, both of Llewellyn. Burial will be made on Wednesday afternoon in the Llewellyn cemetery. Services will be conducted at the house at 2 o'clock. Charles Dietz is the undertaker in charge."
  20. "Friedens Pineswamp Church", by C.W. UNGER, Schuylkill County Historical Society Publication Vol. 5: "Henry DELCAMP was a son of Philip DELCAMP. Later he moved to Indiana. Philip DELCAMP and wife, Maria Magdalena lived to the north of and adjoining the Kims and Repps east of Mill Creek. He was a school teacher, probably at Pineswamp Church and elsewhere. Munsell's history says he was a pioneer teacher at Clauser's Church. He later moved to Minersville. Both he and his wife had wills. He died in 1898 and she somewhat later. In Philip's will he directs that if his boys do not give up drinking and spending when asked to, their portion of his estate shall go to their children."

  *Harold L. PINKERTON Genealogy Source Notebook "William PEIFFER FAMILY" includes a section on Philip and Mary C. DELCAMP. Harold is the grandson of Emma JONES PEIFFER, and great-grandson of Mary Catherine DELCAMP.
  *The family surname has several spelling variations: "Delcamp" per tombstone, also "Dilkam", "Delcome", "Dilcum", Dilicamp and "Delchamp".
  *Emma Rebecca PEIFFER's maiden name appears on the 1870 Branch Township Federal Census and her marriage license application as "Jones". It appears she also used the name of Philip Delcamp, when she signed "Rebecca Delcome" as her maiden name on her husband's death certificate. Her daughter Mollie's obituary, lists her mother as "Rebecca DILCOLM PEIFFER". In the 1880 Federal Census, she is listed as Emma R. 10, daughter of Philip and Mary C. Delcamp.
  *Philip DELCAMP and Mary Catherine HILL came to their marriage with children. Mary Catherine had an infant daughter, Emma Rebecca JONES, named in her will. Philip Delcamp had four children to a previous marriage to Salome that were mentioned in his will: Mollie PAUL (deceased by 1897), Emanuel DELCAMP, Rebecca DORSON (Darson) and Sallie TERRILL, all named in his will.
  *The 1850 Federal Census for Branch Township gives the next door neighbors of Philip and Salome DILCUM: James BUSH 46 Laborer; Molly, James Jr. 19; George 17; Daniel 15; John 13; Catherine 12; Polly 10; Sarah 8; Susan 5; William 2." James BUSH Jr. was the witness to Philip Delcamp's Will in 1896.
