OBITUARY - Altoona Mirror 7/22/1942 Catherine R. Feather, wife of Charles L. Feather, died at her home 2 miles south of Roaring Spring this morning at 3:30 o'clock, death being attributed to acute dilation of the heart. She had been in failing health for the past 6 months. Mrs. Feather was a daughter of Samuel D. and Jennie Helsel Burket and was born on 9/12/1885, and was united in marriage with Mr. Feather on 6/20/1901. He survives with these children: Samuel Feathers and Mrs. Florence Decker of Altoona; Mrs. Charles W. Colbert and Homer Feather of Roaring Spring,; and 2 sisters Mrs. Florence Jacoby of Johnstown and Mrs. Hettie Neterer of Roaring Spring, and 12 grandchildren. Mrs. Feather was a member of the Albright Church of the Brethren. Friends will be received at the home after Thursday morning. OBITUARY - Altoona Mirror 10/13/1948 Charles Lincoln Feather, a retired Pennsylvania blacksmith, died at 5:40 o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter Mrs. C. W. Colbert of Roaring Spring, after an extended illness. He was born 6/22/1876, in Taylor township, Blair County, a son of Harry and Catherine (Claar) Feather. He was married to Catherine Burket, who preceded him in death in 1942. Surviving are these children: Samuel Feather, Mrs. Florence Decker and Homer Feather, all of Altoona, and Mrs. Colbert; 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, John Feather of East Freedom and Benjamin Feather of Roaring Spring. Mr. Feather was a member of the Albright Church of the Brethren where he served as a deacon and Assistant Superintendent of the Sunday school for a number of years. Friends will be received at the home of the daughter, Mrs. C. W. Colbert, at roaring Spring after 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon. .
