Elilu (Elihu?)Curtis was buried in a Friends (Quaker) burial ground in 
Philadelphia.  Death recorded in Friends/Quaker Meeting records. 
Recorded as "not a member." Address at time of death 16 Coombes Alley.

Margaret Curtis Burial recorded, 1 July 1868, Friends  Western burial 
grounds in Philadelphia, PA. d. age 93,  widow for 56 yrs. Cause of
death: Old Age.                                

Abstract of will of
Margaret Curtis, dated 1 March 1867
Address 1912 Vine St. Philadelphia, PA.
Proved 7 August 1869,  by Joseph Curtis, 1912 Vine St.,  Executor, 
Bequeath the 3 story brick dwelling and lot at number 4 Chancery Lane:
Joseph Curtis is instructed to pay the rents received from said 
property to Margaret's son, Thomas Curtis, for the rest of his natural 
life. If Thomas died, Joseph was to give the rest of the estate to his 
own children.

Tuesday morning 30 June 1868
CURTIS - On the 28th inst. Margaret Curtis, relic of Elilu Curtis, in 
the 94th year of her age. The relatives and friends of the family are 
respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the residence of her 
son, Joseph Curtis, 1912 Vine St on the first day of the seventh month 
at 10 o'clock AM without further notice.

1800 City Directory:
?Elujuh? Curtis, occupation.  Tailor, in partnership with someone 
(Unknown but may have been John Curtis, a weaver.  Margaret Curtis 
lists her occupation as "Mangler"
in 1823 -1832 Philadelphia City Directories, indicating that she 
continued to work in the family business after Elilu's death. 
Margaret's son, Joseph Curtis, was sent to New Orleans at age 20, as a 
Commissions Merchant, and had an office located in the cotton warehouse 
district from 1830 -1850, indicating a business connection between 
Elilu and the John Curtis, who's business was manufacturing in the 1830 
Census.
