Samuel Teter, Sr., emigrated with his family from Washington county, Pennsylvania, in 1799, and settled on Lower Twin, where Mr. Newman now lives. He owned considerable land on Twin, which he divided among his sons, Samuel, George, John and Daniel. George and John Settled and died here. John married Mary Edmiston whose father was among the pioneers of Paint township, and died in 1843. Several of his children are living--.
