In the name of God Amen, I Charles Thompson of Union County and State
of South Carolina,
being of sound and perfect mind and memory and blessed by god,
do this twenty third day of February in the year of our lord one thousand
seven hundred and
ninety five make and publish this my last will and testament in the
manner following that is to say
First, I lend unto my wife Elizabeth during her widowhood all my estate
real and personal. In
case my wife Elizabeth do marry then at that time the personal estate
to be divided equally
amongst and with my wife Elizabeth and my children that is now living
with me, each to have
an equal part without having the personal estate lots.
Item- I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Susannah to be paid
at my decease the sum
of ten pounds in property out of my personal estate to be valued.
Item I also order and allow the division of my personal estate as above
mentioned to be made
and done by two responsible men chosen for that purpose, and in
case my wife Elizabeth should die during her widowhood then and at
that time my personal
estate to be divided as aforesaid between my children that is now living
with me in the same mode above mentioned.
Item- At the death or marriage of my wife Elizabeth I give and bequeath
all my lands to be equally
divided between my three sons namely William, John, and
Charles, their heirs and assigns for ever to have and to hold the said
lands and testaments.
Item- I do hereby order and appoint my well beloved wife Elizabeth executrix
(footnoted); and
also my beloved son William my Executor (footnote d) to this last
will and testament
signed and sealed in the presence of

George Petty,
John Darbrow
