Documentation: Hinshaw, Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, Vol.

1, records for Deep River and Springfield Monthly Meetings in NC;

materials at Guilford College, Friends Historical Library, on Quaker

immigrants to South Carolina. Samuel and Ann were both children of

Quaker families who came from Ireland to what is now Camden SC in the

1750s. They moved from there to North Carolina in the early 1780s, and

settled in what is now Davidson County, then part of Rowan Co. NC. After

Samuel's death, Ann married Jacob TACKER.
