John may be the son of Daniel, born abt. 1785 in Scotland, died 1844 in Stewart
Co, KY.

John A McKinnon was a registered voter in Nacogdoches Co in 1867.

There are McKinnons in McNairy Co, TN in 1850. There is a Norman McKinnon in
Knoxville in 1876-77. Many McKinnons in Richmond/Scotland Co, NC in 1840.

Marks Creek Presb Ch, Richmond Co, NC.
The first church was built on land donated by a Mr. John McKinnon. Not much is
known of this church. Except for the foregoing data, no known records exist. It
is known that at about the time the church should have been growing, some of
its members left this area and settled in Georgia, Alabama and Florida.
