During the Civil
War, Walter D. Stevens attended school in England, at Canterbury Academy
in
Dover for five
years. In the 1900 Census, Joliet, Will County, Illinois, Walter's wife
and daughter
were not listed.
They were in Colorado. Walter D. and Mary A. Stevens were divorced October
21,1908,
in Lake County,
Colorado. Walter is buried in Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, Illinois, Mary
is supposedly
buried in Grinnell,
IA. and their daughter, Lillian and her husband, John Scott DODDRIDGE,
are buried
in Rosebud Cemetery,
Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Thus ends the lineage of Walter D. STEVENS.
