Generation No. 1
1. LORETTA1 ROBINSON was born 1825 in New York, and died 1891 in Darien
,
New York. She married WORTHY LORAL GOODENOUGH January 12, 1845 in
Darien ,
New York, son of GEORGE GOODENOUGH and ELIZABETH ROGERS. He was born
1828 in
New York, and died Abt. 1874 in Probably Wisconsin.
Notes for LORETTA ROBINSON:
In 1890 Loretta Robinson Goodenough applied for a Widow's Pension off
of
Worthy Loral Goodenough. Loretta stated--Worthy had abandoned her and
two
young children, and that she had never remarried. ( I have never been
able
to find a divorce record for Loretta B. and Worthy L. ) Loretta gives
her
age as 65, disabled by a fall, and did not own any real estate, she
stated
that the fall had occured Sept. 13, 1889. Loretta gives their marriage
date
as Jan. 12, 1845 at Darien, New York, performed by Elder Childs. On
her
Declaration for Widow's Pension the two witnesses were Mamie Griswold
and
May Ranger of Darien, New York. (I am not sure who these two women
were,
maybe just close friends.) In 1856-57 Worthy L. was to have married
Lucinda
Buchanan____where? A daughter was born to them, Ida Madora, Sept. 5,
1857 in
Illinois. Worthy was sent to prision for being a member of the Neosho
Gang
who robbed and raided in Neosho Co., Wisconsin. Lucinda later married
Daniel
Young Sept. 25, 1864 Geneseo, Henry Co., Illinois, a double marriage
with
her father William H. Buchanan and Minerva Crapo. Worthy was released
from
prison to serve in the Civil War and in 1870 was found on the Sauk
Co.,
Wisconsin census, wife Emma.
Anyone interested in the Goodenough line, I do have a lot of info. on
the
family of Worthy Loral Goodenough, newspaper reports of them being
sent
to
prison, prison records of Worthy and his brother Stillman. I found
the
line
so interesting, even though I descend for Lucinda's second married
Daniel
Young, that I did a lot of research on the Goodenough line.

After the later research on May S. Sutherland RANGER, I don't think
there
was any relation between Loretta and May, I feel they were just
friends.
Loretta may have been a house keeper for Mamie Griswold and was no
relation.

I have checked census for the children of Loretta and Worthy with NO
LUCK
after the 1850 census. The children may have changed their name to
Robinson
also.
(that is just a guess.)

Burial: Darien, New York
Notes for WORTHY LORAL GOODENOUGH:
Worthy Goodenough and Lucinda Buchanan had a daughter Ida Madora, but
I
have
never found the date or place of marriage. Lucinda was in contact with
his
brother Aaron as he testified as Worthy and Lucinda being married ,
when she
applied for a widows pension off the Civil War, after the death of
her
second husband Daniel Young. Worthy and his brother Stilliman were
part
of a
gang called the Neosho Gang that robbed and raided in and around Neosho
Co.,
Wisconsin. Stillman and Worthy and others were sent to prison at Waupum
State and was later released to fight in the Civil War. I do have their
prison records and newspaper articles of their gang involvement. Worthy
had
been married before Lucinda, to Loretta Robinson Jan.12, 1845 in Darin
Genesee.. N.Y. There were two daughters, I am sure one was named Ann.
Loretta died in Darien, N.Y. 1891. In 1870 census, I found Worthy
Goodenough
age 42 and wife Emma age 27 living in the town of New Buffalo, Sauk
Co.,
Wisconsin. The town of Buffalo is now Delton, Sauk Co. Worthy's
brother,
Aaron said that , Worthy died on the Miss. river. I've never found
proof of
that statement. Worthy was in the Civil War, Co. G. 1st. Wisconsin
