John Wesley Miller, III was a native of Baskin, Louisiana. After he married Lena Phillips, who had been a school teacher, they left Louisiana to go to Texas where he found work in the oil fields. Later the went to New Mexico in 1949 and settle in Las Cruces. Mr. Miller owned a Chrysler Car dealership and later at the time of his death was an owner of a tire company. He was an accomplished photographer and could also fly his own airplane. He and his son both died on the same day in 1966. After his death Mrs. Miller lived in Las Cruces with her daughter until she relocated to Columbus, Ohio about 1995. Later she and her daughter moved to Columbia, Missouri where Mrs. Miller died. She was later buried with her husband and son in Las Cruces. The couple had two grandchildren and at present two great grandchildren.
