Documentation: Marriage for James and Elizabeth Buckner Fletcher is in Kaufman Co., Texas. 1880 Census of Kauffman Co., page 105. Buckner family Bible; 1910 Census El Paso, Texas;1920 Census Albuquerque, Bernalillo, New Mexico; Elk Horn as a place comes from the Buckner Bible, it is located near present day communities of Weed and Sacramento in Cridebring Canyon, now in Otero Co., NM. Those little ones who died in Elk Horn are buried in Cridebring Canyon. They were part of a serious epidemic that claimed the lives of quite a few resident of the Sacramento Mountains, especially in 1892.
