* Most Information for this family comes from "Early New Mexico Pioneers of 1885" by Dr. George McNew son of Bill McNew and nephew-in-law to Oliver Lee and Perry Altman. Perry Altman was a half brother to Oliver Lee. Perry owned a ranch house with the front door in New Mexico and the back door in Texas. The family was involved in many legendary events. They had stock, especially horses all the way from Toyah, Texas to Alamogordo, New Mexico and were true pioneers.
