Notes:
1: Mahala JACKSON VALENTINE's death certificate gives her mother's name as Maria MANN and the 1850 census gives Abner JACKSON's wife's name as Charlotte. It is not known whether or not this is the same person.
2: Alvah S. VALENTINE/MILLER stated in his Civil War pension application that his father's name was John MILLER. During his boyhood he was known by his step father's name of VALENTINE; however, when he reached age 21 he resumed using the name of MILLER.
