1920 Kansas City, Jackson Co., MO Census shows:
Raqhuma L. Welsh, mother-in-law, living with Arys Lester Liston's family Mom states he was young during the Civil War. Probably to young to be enlisted, but handled the horses. He lost an eye in an ambush and plagued by the lost eye the rest of his life. Grandmother Rahuma was constantly buying medicine man type medications/spirits to work on his eye. He used to go back to Kentucky during the fall, when the crops were up, with an old dog named Jack, and buy cattle and horses to sell in Missouri.
