Article from Ann Brown
Bible
My Grandmother
Comments: Article from Ann Brown states the following;
Mr. A. H. McCaa was shot and killed by Mr. Jas Nevells. It was about
some
stock breaking in on crops. The two men met in the road near Nevells
home, both armed. It is said that Nevells told McCaa that he made some
charges against him and wanted him to prove them. McCaa told him that
he
would prove them right there. He got out of his wagon, in which two
of
his sons sat, and asked one of them to hand him his gun. To make a
long
story short, both men fired at each other, with Nevells ducking behind
a
wagon. Nevells returned fire and hit McCaa in the head, he fell and
died
instantly. Nevells turned himself in to the police.
