* It is believed the parents of Thomas D Horton were Benjamin Rush Horton, b: Penn 1783 and Jane Zavitz b: Canada - see 1850 Census entry for Avon Twp, Rochester Village, Oakland. On subsequent census entries for Thomas he stated his parents were born in NY, and his age varied between 1834 and 1836 for year of birth.
* In 1870 he and Lydia were in Muskegon Co., in 1880 he and second wife Jane were in Lyons, Ionia Co. Jane is the mother of Earle Drake Horton. She was previously married, on Christmas Day, 1865 in Oakland Co., to James KING b:c. 1844 in England. He died between 1870 [where they lived in Fruitland Twp. in 1870 census] and 1874. Thomas brought up Jane's son Eugene E. KING, b: c. 1867 in MI. Jane is the mother of Earle Drake Horton.
