* Four ELLIOTT / ELIOT brothers, Francis, xPeter, Jacob & John, the "Apostle to the Indians. 3 came to Boston, Suffolk, MA in 1631 aboard the "LION". Peter came 4 years later with his family in 1635 aboard the "HOPEWELL".
* Philip ELLIOTT / ELIOT was our 8th gr grandfather - Philip's ancestors were:

* Philip's brothers were Rev John, Francis and Jacob who came in 1631 aboard the "Lion" ... arriving in Boston, MA.
* Philip came after his brothers in Apr 1635 ... aboard the "Hopewell" His name was not on the custom House in London, it is thought he could not obtain permission to leave his native land, probably feared to ask for it and assumed the right of England to come without it. His wife Elizabeth age 30 was listed on the London Custom House records ... as were his children - who were:
1. Mary age 13 bp 11 March 1621
2. Elizabeth age 8 bp 8 apr 1627
3. Sarah age 6 bp 25 Jan 1629
4. Philip age 2
John Ruggles age 10, called servant;
* They were all from Nazing, the seat of the family and we may be sure he was a subsidy man, or for other good reason is why he could not leave his native land. He md [lic issued] 20 Oct 1624 Elizabeth SYBTHROPE in London, Eng.
* SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT HERE, IF THEY WERE MARRIED 1624, HOW COULD THEIR DAUGHTER MARY BE BP 1621? THEY WERE FROM NASING, ESSEX, ENGLAND, WHY WOULD THEY BE MARRIED IN LONDON, ENGLAND?
* Philip was freeman 26 May 1636, a deacon of his brothers (John) church in Roxbury. He was rep 4 yrs from 1654-1657 ... he d 22 Oct 1657 ... leaving three daughters, Elizabeth, Sarah and other respective wifes of Richard WITHINGTON of Dorchester, of John ALDIS and of John SMITH of Dedham as remembered in his will of 21 Oct 1657. His daughter Mary which md 1 Jan 1642 Edward PAYSON and lived long. She rec'd her share of her father's property on her marriage many years before his will was made.
