NOTES:  Records indicate that they had a total of 11 children; family members 
have shared that only 4 children survived to adulthood: John Jr., Mary Emma, 
Dolly and Ida.  We suspect M[ary] Eliza's parents to be Perry and Francis 
[Fanny] Alcorn, but have not found definitive documentation. Finally, there is 
much descrepancy in the records concerning this couple's ages.  The birth dates 
cited above were taken from their respective death certificates.
