NOTES:Sarah Amanda Abbie White: Educ:     Buckingham Academy in Berlin, MD and Western MD. College Class
of 1902
Miss Abbie White taught school (all grades and all subjects) at age 23 years.
She rode to this school on horseback from her home in Powellville, MD. She
had her big boy pupils cut wood for the stove, which warmed the one room
school.  Ms. Abbie attended Buckingham Academy in Berlin, MD living with her
cousin Miss Amanda Dennis.  She attended Western Maryland College, Class of 1902.  She taught the 3 Rs as well as geography, history, later Algebra, etc. A very competent and resourceful young woman.
