Documentation:
* Johann Jacob Seidemann was baptized 1 May 1719 at Lutheran church in Freinsheim, his sponsor being Johann Jacob, single son of Johann Jacob Webel, master miller at Gross Carlbach. He was confirmed at the Lutheran church on Easter 1732.
* On 1 September 1736 he arrived at Philadelphia on the ship Harle (along with his siblings, mother and step-father, Jacob Barth)
* Records of the New Hanover Lutheran church (in Montgomery County, PA) show an infant son (unnamed in the record) of Jacob Seidemann was buried 17 January 1748.
* The first record in Maryland of Johann Jacob Seidemann is from 20 October 1753 when Johan Jacob and his wife, Anna Margaretha were sponsors at the baptism of Anna Margaretha, daughter of Joh. Hacob Reinhard at the Monocacy church.
* Jacob Sydeman was naturalized in 1761 and made his will in 1764. He died by or in 1774, the year Margaretha is listed as a widow.
* He owned a piece of property called "Sydemon's Delight."
* Will of Jacob Sydeman (original form of name Johann Jacob Seidemann) from Maryland Hall of Records Commission.
"In the name of God Amen I Jacob Sydeman of Frederick County and province of Maryland being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament. First of all I commit my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth from whence it came to be buried in christ's like and decent manner at the designation of my exe. And [illegible].
Item I give to well beloved wife Margareit my black mare side saddle and two cows and one third part of all the remainder of my personal estate and give the whole of my lands during the time she remains my widow and one third part during her natural life.
Item I give and bequeath to my two daughters namely Catherine and Margareit all the remainder of my personal estate to be equally divided between them to be delivered or paid to them severally by my exe. when they come of age or marry and also my lands to be equally divided between the said Catherine and Margareit when the time for which I have given said lands to my above said wife expired.
And lastly I do nominate my brother Peter Beard to be the sole executor of my last will and testament in witness whereof I do [illegible]my bond and seal this first day of February, anno dominae one thousand seven hundred and sixty four."
* Anna Margaretha made her will 31 August 1799. It was probated in November 1809 and a final accounting was rendered October 1811. Among the property bequeathed was a piece of property (acreage not noted) given to Margaretha Crumbaugh. Text of will:
"In the name of God, Amen. 31st of August 1799. I Margaret Seideman,
widow, of Frederick County, Maryland, being sick & do make this my last
will and Testament.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter, Margaret Crumbaugh, one walnut chest and one large German Bible and my feather bedstead and furniture, if the said Margaret Crumbaugh lives with me till after my decease; but, if the said Margaret Crumbaugh does not live with me till after my decease, the feather bed and bed stead and furniture to be equally divided between my children.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret Crumbaugh, the following parcel of land, called Monocy Manor, to her heirs and assigns, forever, and my daughter, Catherine Smith, wife of Peter Smith, Sr., the sum of £30 - to be paid to the said Catherine Smith, her heirs or assigns.
Item. It is my will and desire that the remainder of my estate be equally divided among my children."
Executor of the will was Christian Smith, son of Phillip Smith.
