NOTES:
There are records of the marriage of John and Phebe in three
locations. The intentions
were recorded in Burnham (7) which lists her as Phebe Twombly
of Monroe. This identity
is supported by the 1850 Monroe (4) census. The marriage was
also recorded in the
Somerset county records (3) as Phebe Twombly of Monroe. It was
again recorded,
apparently at a later date, in Pittsfield (1) which lists her
as Peleg Twombly of Monson.
