  NOTES:

  John is listed in various places as Pushard, Pushaw, Pushan, Pushor. He was a farmer
  during his entire life. The 1840 Maine Census Index does not list John, even though he
  does appear in the census itself. He sold his farm his Pittsfield 12/Dec/1850 (17) after
  which he apparently moved to Burnham. No record of his acquisition of the farm, about
  1839, has as yet been located. John George Pushard, b: 11/Dec/1794, was the s/o George
  Pochard Jr. and his wife Polly. (2)  Lavinia may have died between 1843 and 1850 as she
  doesn’t appear in the 1850 census. There is a gap in the Pittsfield VR, abt 1835-1860, due
  to a fire. Burnham was originally called ’25 Mile Pond Plantation’.
