Documentation:
1. Earliest Records of Machias, Maine (1767-1827), (Pub. by Mrs. Beulah G. Jackman, Concord, N. H.).
2. Darryl B. Lamson & Leonard F. Tibbetts, Early Narraguagus River Families of Washington County, Maine, (Picton Press, Rockport, Maine 2002), vol. 2.
3. Vital Records of Rockland, ME.
4. Vital Records of Lubec, Maine, Prior to 1892.
5. "Rockland Courier-Gazette," "Sevey, Sarah J. married 20 March 1860 at Rockland to William Perry both of South Thomaston by Rev J Kalloch". In the 22 March 1860 issue.
6. Trescott Town Records (Note that this record calls Sarah Jane Seavey by the name Mary Jane). Interestingly, the Rockland, ME VR of her marriage calls her Mary J. Seavey; however, the intentions and the newspaper announcement of the marriage call her Sarah J Sevey. My grandmother always refered to her as Sarah.)
7. "Rockland Courier-Gazette," Obituary of Sarah Perry, "Sarah, wife of William Perry, Esq., died in Rockland Feb. 8, 1870, aged 37 years."
8. Knox Co., ME, 1860 Census.

Notes:
* The only mention I find for daughter Nancy is in the Trescott Town Records. Her late birth makes me wonder whether she is a daughter or a granddaughter.
* Alvah's name is spelled variously in the various records. Sometimes it looks like Alora, Alava or Albert.
* William Seavey, the father, is shown in the Rockland VRs as dying on April 20, 1854. However, he is listed with the family as age 60, a ships carpenter, in the 1860 Rockland, ME Census!
* The published Lubec record of his marriage to Sarah Tucker gives her maiden surname as Packer. However, I am confident that this is a misreading of the handwriting on the original and that her surname was Tucker.
* Amelia Tucker Seavey m. 2nd James G. Philbrick in 1861.
* Joel Seavey is found in the 1870 Hampden Census; in 1880 and 1900, in Bangor, ME.
* Lucy Seavey appears in the 1870 Rockland, ME Census with husband Henry Davis and son Josiah Davis, in the household of her mother Sarah Seavey, along with brothers Josiah, "Albert," and James.
