Was a farmer, a Member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, a member of the County Court. Moved to Bemis, TN about 1901 and Died from a busted blood vessel while coughing. William Garey, after his parents died was taken to Saltillo, Hardin County, TN when he was about 10. Listed on the 1860 Hardin County, 13th Civil District, Tennessee census living with a Reuben White. Was a farmer near Right, TN, he was also a school teacher and a carpenter and a member of the Cumberland Prebyterian Church and served as an Elder. He died of cancer. David GAREY Enlisted in Captain Guy Dreux's Cavalry Co A. on March 10, 1862 for a 90 day period. Surrendered at Citronelle, AL May 4, 1865 and paroled to Meridian, Miss, May 10, 1865 Dreux's Co., La. Cav. Served as escot to Gen. Beauregard, Bragg, Hood & Johnston.
