Documentation: 1)1860 United States Census, Moses has remarried after
Alsey's death in 1844, new wife was Malinda Jane Shotwell. 2) Birthdates
for Children with nothing but year were calculated based on the 1850 and
1860 United States Census. 3)Death place of Margaret Ann Moore was
obtained from obituary for Margaret Jones published in the Illinois State
Journal newspaper of Springfield on September 26, 1906, p. 6, and read as
follows:
"Jones - Died, at 9:30 o'clock Sunday morning, September 23, 1906, at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Mamie Bryan, in Elgin, Mrs. Margaret A. Jones,
widow of the late Solomon Jones, aged 69 years. The funeral was held in
Elgin and the interment was made in the cemetery there.
The decedent is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bryan of Elgin and Mrs.
Petticord of this city. Mrs. Jones came to this city with her husband
from Laurel county, Ky., forty years ago and resided in this city until
last June. She was removed from her home, 1826 East Adams street, to the
home of her daughter in Elgin at that time on account of ill health."
