"........Being the same land heretofore recovered in the Supreme Court of Tennessee at Nashville, by the heirs of John BOYD, Senior, dec'd - your orator represents that his said interest of 5 1/2 ninths of said land is undivided & was purchased by him directly and indirectly from the following children and heirs at law of said John BOYD, Senior, Dec'd - to wit - Elijah BOYD, John BOYD, Junior, Solomon KERR and his wife Adeline -Green SCONTS and his wife Matilda, and Miles BOYD and one-half of the interest of the said Wiley BOYD - for ll of which your orator will exhibit his deeds, upon the final hearing if necessary - And your orator represents that the remainder, amounting to 3 1/2 ninths - now belong to the said Wiley, Carter A. (VARTER?), the Said John Huckaby and wife - and to Susan BOYD the widow of said John BOYD, Senior, dec'd ---- All of whom, except the said Wiley, reside in parts unknown to your orator --and as he believes in some of the states South or West of Tennessee, so that the ordinary process of the Law cannot be served on them." 30. Interview from Dena MARIOTT SMITH, daughter of Arthur MARIOTT and great neice of Julia MARIOTT SCONCE. The story she told in re to Julia was that she was suppose to have been buried at Yadkin, but the day she was to be buried it came a big rain and the creek was out of control and they could not cross so they turned around and brought her back to Bellah and buried her there instead. She said this was the story that was handed down from her dad.
