 Documentation:
  Information on William Calvin Watkins (W.C.)and his family came from his Civil War Pension file, John
 Watkins will, marriage record found in KY genweb. Death certs. obtained from AZ. archives and
 researchers Shirley Bogart Harper, Sherry Claxton and many other researchers that have been helpful and
 generous though the years. I have found quite a bit of information on the Labette and Chautauqua County
 genweb sites that has helped me learn so much about W.C. Watkins and I thank the people that have
 contributed their time and research to those sites. I have only found W.C. and Sarah in one census record
 (1860)and if it weren't for the Labette and Chautauqua genweb sites I wouldn't have any information on
 them during the years they lived in KS. W.C. was an early pioneer to those two counties and was very
 active in organizing the counties and local politics so he was mentioned in Cutler's History of KS and
 Nelson Case's History of Labette Co. KS. Bless the folks that have taken the time to put those two books
 online.
