Birth and death dates from "Orleans Cemetery Records" of Appanoose County Iowa.  Daniel came to Iowa in 1846.
 On the 1856 State Census he states that he had been in the state 10 years.  He states he was Birthdate: in Virginia on 1850,
1856 and 1860 censuses.  His wife Sarah Death date: 31 Aug 1863 and on 11 Nov 1863 he married Elizabeth Scott.
His children are stated as heirs of his probate record in Appanoose County Iowa. In 1830 is in Pulaski Co., KY;
In 1840 is in Randolph Co., MO; In 1850 & 1860 is in Appanoose Co., IA.

Birth and death dates from "Orleans Cemetery Records" of Appanoose County Iowa.  Daniel came to Iowa in 1846.

27  June 1866 in Appanoose County Iowa. Her birth date estimated from 1850 Pettis Co Missouri Census,
she is age 36 and her oldest child is age 16 Birthdate: in  Kentucky.  Estimate she married about 1833 in KY. Her
birth date received 20 May 2003 from Ellen Kroll a descendant of Highley Johnson Hughes. Her e-mail

head of household in Appanoose Co., IA with Thomas J and Judith A. she is listed as "Helen". ; In 1880 is in Franklin Co., KS.

Polly JOHNSON
Her place in this family is from the probate record of Daniel B. Johnson where the names of heirs is listed dated 27
June 1866 in Appanoose County Iowa. Her birth date estimate from the fact that Daniel B. Johnson had 1 daughter
age 15-20 and that is Highley, 2 daughters age 10-15 and Ruth is one of them. Elizabeth the next daughter is not that
old yet which makes room for Polly to be in that age bracket.  Until this is verified I will make this an "assumption."

Ruth JOHNSON
In 1850 Ruth is living next door to Amos B. Johnson son of Daniel and Sarah Johnson. Daniel Johnson, Jr is living
with her and her husband, Jeremiah Harris. All in Appanoose Co., IA. Ruth is listed as an heir in the probate record of
Daniel B. Johnson dated 27 June 1866. Ruth is age 29 in 1850 on the Appanoose Co Iowa Census and Birthdate: in
Kentucky. Her marriage is from Randolph Co., MO Marriage Records. Jeremiah was apparently married to another
before Ruth as he has children Birthdate: before their marriage in 1845. She is in Pulaski Co., KY in 1830; In Randolph
Co., MO 1840; Appanoose Co., IA in 1850; Newton Co., MO in 1860 and
1870; in Republic Co., KS in 1880. Her death estimate and place from Ron Wilkinson, a descendant of Ruth.
His database is on http://WorldConnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com. Her actual death date received from Hayward
Goff per phone conversation 15 Aug 2003.  He is descended from her daughter Nancy Harris Wilkinson.
He has her funeral notice from a newspaper.

1866 in Appanoose County Iowa. Her birth date estimated from the Pettis Co Missouri 1850 census.  She is age 25
and her oldest child is age 5 Birthdate: in Missouri, so I estimate that she was married in Missouri about 1844. Her actual

Daniel JOHNSON Jr.
Daniel is listed as an heir to Daniel B. JOhnson's estate in Appanoose County Iowa dated 27 June 1866.
In 1850 he is age 24 on census in Appanoose Co., IA. His marriage per Ellen Krull in Tucson, AZ. She is a
descendant of Highley Johnson and Henry Hughes and is also a descendant of the Edwards that intermarried with
the Hughes and Johnsons. His marriage found in Iowa Marriages 1851-1900 on Ancestry.com.

Sarah JOHNSON
Birth month & year from Davis County Iowa 1900 Census.  She was living with son, George Van Buskirk.
Says she had Birthdate:e 7 children and 5 were living. She was Birthdate: in Kentucky per this Census. One of the children
that had deceased was a little girl named Delann and I suspect that the other one was her first Birthdate: son, John.
 John doesn't show up after the 1860 Census. She signed as heir to the sale of her husband's farm on 11 June
1902. Other heirs that signed were Marion VanBuskirk, George W. Van Buskirk, Anna VanBuskirk,
Daniel VanBuskirk, and Lillie VanBuskirk. The buyer was W.J. Gale. Her death date and place from Haddam
Cemetery records in Haddam, Washington Co. Kansas per Mary Elliott the Haddam Town Clerk via a
telephone conversation on 17 April 2000. Her birth date and place from her obituary stating she was
Birthdate: April 24, 1827 near Lexington, Kentucky.

There is another daughter in the household of Daniel and Sarah Johnson in Pulaski Co., KY. She is age 5-10.
Sarah is the other daughter that age.  I don't know the name of this little girl.

Amos B. JOHNSON
Amos B Johnson is listed as an heir in the probate settlement for Daniel B. Johnson dated 27
June 1866.  He is age 20 in 1850 on the census. His death date from Orleans Cemetery Records
in Appanoose Co., Iowa. The transcript of the Orleans Cemetery says he Death date: 1845, but I am sure
this has to be an error of transposing the year 1854. It says "A.B. JOHNSON d. Dec 31 1845
(1854) 24y 7m 1d"   I have personally seen this tombstone and it definitely says age 24y.
