Found no record of Lewis FLEMING later than the 1856 Iowa State Census for Linn County which shows:
Louis FLEMING 29, Mary FLEMING 29, Clarisa FLEMING 5, Samuel L. FLEMING 5,
William N. FLEMING 3, all from Ohio and apparently living in the household of Mary's parents. In 1860,
Mary (WALTON) FLEMING is living with her parents and has 2 children shown: David 5, Eldora 3. Clarissa
Jane 10 is with a RYAN family in Delaware County, Willie 7 is with a LOGAN family in Linn County, Samuel:
unknown. In 1870, Mary now CHANDLER is head of household (Linn Co) with Saml 17, Wm 16,
David 14, Eldora 13, Nettie 7, and Sid 3. Clarissa is already married.
