Henry Charles Schroeder arrived in the US at the Port of Galveston in 1871 
aboard the Meteor with his father, step mother, Charlotte, sister, Henrietta 
and brother Wilhelm.  He married Augusta Mueller who arrived in 1872 with 
'cousins'  unknown.  The family farmed in Williamson Co. prior to moving to 
Miles in about 1900, where the family stayed and was very active there.  He 
farmed and ran a Saloon, the family played musical instruments and participated 
in the Miles Brass band.  About 1907,  Henry looked at the land in Lubbock Co. 
and bought the land in which Resthaven  Cemetery is now on, then they relocated 
to Wolforth, where they lived, built a home and a school until their deaths.  
Grandma Augusta Mueller Schroeder's death certificate says that she died of  
'grief combined with worry and anxiety', her sons, Will and Otto were in WWI 
and she was afraid that they were fighting her family members.
