(Original now in Scotland, copy held by Fiona M Lundy.) He was at the Battle of widow Moore's Ck. Bridge and evaded capture after the Loyalists loss, made his way north to rejoin the British in the British Legion as an Ensign in Capt. Patrick Stewart's troop. Claimed compensation for losses from Shelbourne, NS, but did not stay there; he was back in Scotland before 1800 and had 2 further families. His obituary, which noted he was aged 106, was printed in the Times newpaper, London, England as well as the Inverness and Aberdeen newspapers in Scotland.
