Marshall's daughter attended Oberlin College per records there. 5) Is listed as having taught at both Oberlin and Williams in both county & other histories & family records however neither college has a record of this. 6) Was married by Joseph Smith, JR at Kirtland, OH LDS records say he received a Patriarchal Blessing from Joseph Smith, Sr. Did not go with main group to Nauvoo that we can find record of and we haven't found other records to tie them to the Mormon church. We have found mention in a county history that Marshall dropped his membership with the Congregational(Presbyterian) Church due to differences in theology. Later records seem to indicate that family descendants might have been associated with the Methodist Episcopal Church when they moved to KS. 7) Per one history Marshall stopped teaching at about 40 years old due to health problems and became a farmer thereafter. 8) Moved to Bartholomew County by 1842 per land/tax records. 9) While in Indiana his daughter and son in law died (they are buried at Harmony-Lawton in Bartholomew county, IN). They had lived next to him and left a child named after his dad who would also travel with family to the next place they settled in---Kansas. 10) Marshall moved to Chetopa Twp (near Thayer), Neosho, KS in 1871 -- two of his sons had traveled there earlier. 11) He is buried in Thayer Cemetery, Thayer, Neosho, KS along with other Brewster family. Also, there is a memorial there to the two children who died---Theodosia (Docia) as mentioned earlier and Oscar who died in 1877 as a result of the effects of war (He served in the Civil War). 12) Marshall lost one of his eyes due to an accident with an ox according to one of the notes made on his photo -- we are not sure when this occurred as he made three major moves in his life and also was a farmer. We also wonder if this incident is the one that caused him to choose farming as an occupation or if this preceded his education.
