NOTES:
John Mason Todd died from wounds received at the Battle of Spotsylvania
Court House. His children were separated and
farmed out to various relatives. Son James Mitchell Todd later called
himself John, after his father, and moved to Alabama.
Thomas Franklin Todd never married, and died of heat stroke at the age of
thirty. Lucyann married John M. Walker in
Georgia, and had two daughters before dying from childbirth. Joanna
disappeared completely and may have died in
