Documentation:
On the 1850 Georgia Muscogee Census a Mrs. JONES is listed
"next door" to Jesse NELSON. She is 55 and there is no record
of birth
place for her or her sons David, Ebenezer and John W. They are
of
military age. I found a David JONES and Ebenezer JONES in the
20th
Georgia Infantry, which
did muster out of Muscogee with other counties in the military district.
This David was captured and joined the US forces. Ebenezer did
not leave
a paper trail. Both were in Company I and joined on the same
date. John
W NELSON may have served in CSA 7th Regiment, Confederate
Cavalry
(Claiborne's Partisan Rangers Regiment. There are other soldiers
in
Company I with the surname of Jones.
The second thing I noticed was that in church records for the NELSON
and
WALL families, there was a note that Mary JONES, a member of Mt Gilead
Baptist Church in Muscogee County died in 1864. Polly or Mary
Nelson
JONES was a Baptist, joined Mt. Paron Primitive Baptist Church of
Crawford County, Georgia 06/07/1829 by letter from Mt. Zion Church
in
Jones County and lettered out 09/02/1831. On the Mt. Paron Church
roll
there is the following note: Jones, Jesse Brother joined 1829-06-07
by
Letter and left 1831-12-31 by Letter and his wife's name was Mary .

I have not found the sons on another census.
