Notes for Mary Frances Carter:
MRS. M. F. WILSON DIED AT THE HOME OF HER DAUGHTER IN MONTICELLO
News was received in Thomasville this morning of the death of Mrs. M. F. Wilson at the home of
her daughter Mrs. Jim Freeman at Monticello, Fla., following  an attack of pneumonia.
Arrangements have been made for the funeral services at Salem Church on the Pavo Road in this
county tomorrow afternoon at three o'clock. Mrs. Wilson was in her eighty-eighth year and was
respected and admired throughout this section where she had lived for many years. It is with a
feeling of profound sorrow that her friends here will learn of her death, even though at an
advanced age and after a life of many activities and useful pursuits. Mrs. Wilson is survived
by the following children:
 Mrs. Jim Freeman of Monticello; Mrs. I.P. Wilson of Valdosta; Mrs. Jim Fullwood of Tampa;
Messrs. J.P. Wilson, Arthur Wilson, and George Wilson all of Pavo, Ga., Mr. Eddie Wilson of
Coolidge and Mr. J.B. Wilson Of this city.

MRS. MARY WILSON PASSED AWAY NEAR MONTICELLO
On February 10, 1933, the death angel visited the home of Mrs. Sallie Freeman near Monticello
and took from their midst the beloved mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Wison was born in Mitchell County, September 1844 and was deprived of a mother's love in
early life, after which she lived with an aunt.
In early life she was married to Mr. Wilson in Jefferson County, but practically all their
married life was spent in Thomas County which she loved so well.
She was a devoted mother and Christian worker having united with the Missionary Baptist Church
in her girlhood days. Her health was very good, she being sick only a short time, having a case
of flue, which caused her death.
She was a regular attendant to church and always ready to lend a helping hand or kind word to
brighten anyone's life. She was a devoted lover of Christ.
Besides hosts of friends, Mrs. Wilson leaves to mourn her loss six sons and two daughters, Mr.
Wilson having preceded her to the grave twenty three years ago.
The children, a union of brothers and sisters which hasn't been broken are:
J.B. Wilson, Thomasville, Ga., J.P. Wilson, Thomasville, Ga., S.A. Wilson, Thomasville, Ga.,
A.P. Wilson, Pavo, Ga., I.P. Wilson, Valdosta, Ga., E.R. Wilson, Coolidge, Ga., Mrs. Sallie
Freeman, Monticello, Fla., and Mrs. Florence Fulwood, Tampa, Fla., besides she was blessed with
44 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
The funeral services were held at Salem Baptist Church on Saturday, February 11, at 3:00
o'clock conducted by Rev. W.J. Chisholm of Lakeland, Ga., assisted by Rev. T.F. Callaway of
Thomasville, Ga.
Her sons acted as pallbearers and her body was laid to rest in Salem Cemetery.
