He patented land Feb 18 1722 in Brunswick Co Va..see Bruns. Co Deed Book
3 page 8 Apr 4 1745 from Thomas Sisson of Bruns. planter and Hannah his
wife to Nathaniel Raines of Prince George Co Planter for 7 lbs one tract
of 250 acres of land on ss of three creeks in Bruns and bounded by James
Lee, Sampson Lanier. The land was patented on Feb 18 1722 to John Raines deceased.
Signed Thomas Sisson, Hannah Sisson Wit John Maclin, Edward Godorich,
Recorded Apr 4 1745.   So this may be his Grandfather?
Surry records show John of Surry ..for the most part illegible... Richard
and wife ex 18 Aug 1731 probated 19 Jan 1731..and Simon Raiine 16 Aug 1738.
He was a liberal supporter of the established Church according to notes
of Jim Ward's Aunt Edith's
