Notes:
Information about Sylvanus B. NELSON:
 * CSA Co. G 31st Alabama, buried at cemetery at Rock Island, Illinois and note that date died and burial plot# can be found online. I did not recognize any family members' names. These two POW camps run by "Yankees" were not much different from Andersonville. The lack of food and medical care and overwhelming exposure to diseases such as typhoid and diphtheria and pneumonia made it difficult to survive.

 * The Civil War really devastated this family. Ebenezer had seven children: four sons and three daughters. Ebenezer died in 1860 before the Civil War began. What a heartache for him, had he lived, to know that all four of his sons and at least one of his sons-in-law died during the war. His first wife Sarah also died before the war. That left three daughters and two daughters-in-law that we are aware of. Ebenezer was a fine Christian and minister of the Gospel. His name can be found on many marriage certificates in Alabama.
